Suarilla also bared that Napolcom has more than a
hundred scholarship grantees in the region - 24 are in the elementary
level; 30 in the secondary; 88 in tertiary level; and 6 had graduated
from college. "The Commission has paid more than P400,000 for the
scholarship of children of PNP members who died or became permanently
disabled due to injury sustained in the line of duty." He said these
benefits provided by the Napolcom is part of the government's over-all
program for the enhancement of the morale of the police force.
In other reports, last October 26, Napolcom conducted the PNP Entrace
and Promotional Examination, the second to be conducted this year. Some
1,626 examinees took the PNP examinations in Bicol which was held at the
Mariner's Polytechnic Colleges Foundation and the Pag-Asa National High
School, both in Legazpi City.
Suarilla said that of the 1,626 examinees in Bicol, 1,179 took the PNP
entrance while 133 took police officers exams, 255 for Senior Police Officers,
53 for Inspectors and 6 for Superintendents. The successful examinees
shall be eligible for promotion or for new appointment to the PNP. The
result of this examination will be released this December. |
