Brgy Chair's son killed by rebels

Camp Nakar, Lucena City-Brgy. Chairman Rolando Erenia y Yutiga of Brgy. Magsalangui, Milag-ros, Masbate was harassed by some 30 fully armed Communist Terrorists (CTs) at his residence at dawn of Sunday, October 19. Erenia and his son Rolly engaged the attackers killing one and wounding two other rebels in the firefight that lasted for about 20 minutes. The cadaver of the unidentified NPA rebel was brought to the Milagros Municipal Police Station for identification while the wounded persons were brought to the Masbate Provincial Hospital for treatment. Rolly Erenia, 28 years old, however, was also killed in the firefight while the Erenia neighbors, Jomar, 5 years old, and Maribel, 11 years old, all surnamed Dalanon y Fuentes, were caught in the crossfire.
