The ecotrek, dubbed as "Traversing Catanduanes", had 51 participants coming from the different mountaineering and outdoors clubs in the Bicol region, with an additional 49 more coming from Greencat as support group, for a total of 95 participants.

Regional participants included members of the Maenoc Mountaineers, Mayon Mountaineers, Oryols Mountaineers, Dark Trail Mountaineers, Silang Mountaineers, Subok Mountaineers, Sorsogon Gays Mountaineers, BCMC, Panaway Mountaineers, representatives from the Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines Inc. and other mountaineering and outdoors clubs, including freelancers.
The trail was "created" by members of Greencat's exploration team, traversing the mountainous ridges of San Miguel and Baras, passing through untamed wilderness and wildlife.

The activity began with the group heading towards Brgy. Kilikilihan in San Miguel town. From there, they crossed a river towards the mountain of Pacugon (San Miguel), where Camp I of the ecotrek was located. After this, the group headed towards Brgy. Agban, Baras where Camp II was situated, somewhere along a mountain ridge. Simple closing rites were held at the Majestic Beach Resort in Puraran, Baras.

Baras Mayor Jose Teves was the guest of honor and speaker of the occasion. Vice-Mayor Chito Chi was also at hand to welcome the participants from the Bicol mainland. Government and private agencies involved in the successful holding of the 2nd Regional Greencat Ecotrek include, among others, the Office of the Provincial Governor, the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation (SKPF), and the Bicol Mountaineering Federation. The ecotrek is an annual event which is held as part of the celebrations of the Catandungan Festival.
